Dude, it's all about chemical reactions in the cell organelles in the plants. For instance, all plants absorb carbon dioxide and transform it into clucose in the thylokoidj and cytoplasm in the cell. It all depends on the type of chemical that the plant uses and has developed during it's evolution.
