What would happen if a large meteor hit a hurricane?

A once in a billion years event but what would happen if a large meteor/small asteroid (~500 m) hit a hurricane in the eye. Would the shockwaves destabilize the circular motion and disperse the energy or would the added energy/heat from the impact would strengthen the hurricane.
