Modern Christianity effectively creating division.?

As far as I am aware there has never been unconditional love in the church. Is it not all about sinners and non sinners, believers and non beleivers. Were it not for the bait of some believing they are better people I doubt many would bother with the church anyway. It is only by dividing people that the church can thrive, without an 'Us and them' there would be no sides, just a race, 1 race, the human race.
