Stressed over my FUTURE CAREER!! Help!?
The great thing about advertising is its part of the bigger world of "marketing" - since it sounds like you're still figuring out your real strengths I would shoot for a broader category like marketing or communications that will give you a lot of options. Most people in advertising, marketing or communications love to be creative, but that doesn't mean they're all writers or artists. Account executives at ad agencies and marketing firms make six figures if they're good...art directors do well too. You do have to work your way up, but it's more about learning the different facets of the industry than it is about starting as a grunt and moving up painful step by painful step. Most entry level workers start as copywriters, ociates, or some other job where you have a mentor. A good degree would be marketing, communications, journalism (especially if you like to write) or any liberal arts degree as long as there's a strong emphasis on English and the arts. I hope this helps!
